Hello! Welcome to the Clever Dexter Challenge!
I’ll start by introducing myself, my name is Monica and I am super excited to be here today! (You can find me on Instagram at @OwlMakeItCrafts  or on My Blog to learn more about me).  I am here today with more inspiration to get you going on this super fun new challenge.  Have you been following along? Don’t know what it’s all about? No worries, you can find the Challenge Rules HERE.

I have always wanted to join in on crafting challenges but I’ll be honest with you. 90% of the time I forget about them and by the time I remember the deadline is gone or that same day LOL. Well, this challenge is super easy because it runs all month long so you’ll have plenty of time to join in 🙂.
Each month we will have a brand new theme, optional color palette and a New sponsor. For our first month we have The Paper Shelter sponsoring with this adorable image called “Happy New Year”. It is perfect to help us celebrate not only the New a year but this New Clever Dexter Challenge!
Today I created this card using the image provided by our sponsor . I used the colored version, which is totally adorable and I love the colors they chose. One of the things I love about digital stamps is that you can manipulate the sizing, which comes in very handy when you’re creating! This little girl looks like she’s having so much fun, and because I love interactive and shaker cards I could not pass this opportunity to make this one.

I decided to use an image I printed as the background, printed a tiny image of the girl swinging on the bell and made a fancy frame with lime green glitter card stock. I used the smaller space to keep the color. I used a piece of acetate to reinforce the image after fussy cutting it out and made it “hang” off the frame. I filled in some confetti, glitter and tiny pearl beads for the shaker. Be sure to follow me on Instagram  to see this card in action😉

I mounted the image on a top folding card and used this Celebrate word die from Waffle Flower, die cut in metallic rose gold card stock. Hope you guys enjoyed this card and don’t forget to join in this super fun challenge. Remember, there will be prizes so you’ll definitely want to participate 😉
Till next time!
